What global enterprises are saying about Abatis®.
Immediasite is a web hosting company based in Windsor, England and hosts a number of United Nations sites that are considered attractive targets for hackers and hacktivist web site defacement.
Following a number of successful hacking/web defacement attacks (despite using traditional Anti-Virus tools), Immediasite approached Abatis to secure their servers.
“We have been using HDF from Abatis on our web servers since 2008. In this time it has successfully stopped all attempts by hackers to deface our clients’ web sites.
What is truly amazing to us is that we have not needed to emergency patch our Win2003 servers since fitting HDF. HDF gives us time to conduct compatibility testing on applicable patches before applying them. This has saved us so much time and money.
Since 2008 we have not had a single incident of hacking or unauthorised access to our servers, despite literally thousands of attempts recorded in HDF’s logs.
We are very pleased with Abatis HDF’s performance and cost-effectiveness and delighted to recommend it to anyone.”
During 2010, the Epson production line suffered a number of zero-day infections through infected USB data stick. Epson security staff investigated the incidents and concluded that the anti-virus software being used was ineffective against these zero day malware attacks. The time and effort required to clean up after each infection and the lost production was considerable and potentially damaging to Epson’s reputation so they needed to find a more effective defence against zero day and targeted attacks.
Epson tested Abatis’ HDF software as a potential defence of its production environment as HDF claimed to be able to stop zero day malware, targeted attacks and unknown as well as known malware. After 6 months of testing Epson agreed that the HDF software proactively defended its production systems against all of these types of attack and rolled it out in the production environment.
Epson has been using HDF to protect its production environment since March 2011 and has suffered no reoccurrence of malware infection since this time. Epson has found HDF to be very simple to use and are pleased with its effectiveness.
Eurotunnel has been using HDF since 2008 on its mobile workforce netbook devices. Train drivers with these netbooks now no longer need to go to an office to get their instructions but can do everything they need over the Internet. The netbooks were too low power to effectively run a traditional, signature-based anti-virus program and consequently were vulnerable to infection.
Since installing HDF on all netbooks Eurotunnel has suffered zero infections. The success of this installation encouraged Eurotunnel to roll out HDF in its fixed office environment in 2011.
CO-OP in Switzerland suffered malware infections despite having ‘well known’ anti-virus programs. It installed HDF and no longer has a problem – so much so that they forgot they had HDF running!
“We have installed HDF for 18 months, all applications run as normal. HDF is an ‘install and forget’ software. We have not experienced any performance hit on our computers. We like the simple idea of HDF and it works. As simple as that!”
Cox PowerTrain is a highly innovative engine design company which approached Abatis to provide its Host Integrity Technology to prevent accidental and deliberate damage of its designs and to secure its Intellectual Property (IP) from electronic theft. Abatis HDF has been protecting Cox since mid 2011 and has been an early adopter of the Central Management Console (CMC) used to monitor the HDF installations
Armasuisse – uses HDF to implement separation of virtual environments operating at different classifications thereby solving the problem of data leakage through the hypervisor and subsequent infection of environments by malware.
“In Information Security, complexity is your foe. Complex Anti-Malware techniques become more and more themselves targets to attacks.
Abatis HDF is a simple, verifiable solution protecting against a considerable spectrum of Malware threats. It has the potential to substantially enhance the protection level of our systems.”
“Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation has been using Abatis HDF since 2008 to defend some of our most critical business systems.
We are impressed with HDF’s faultless performance. Over the years, HDF has been an effective technology that requires no regular maintenance.
The Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of this deployment is very low compared with other security solutions.
Abatis’ security expertise and quality of service has been very professional and we are in the process of extending HDF deployment to our other systems”.
MTR uses HDF to secure its video advertising panels on the underground after a traditional AV failed to provide a secure and ‘stutter-free’ picture. HDF was then rolled out to protect a 64 bit Windows e-commerce, e-Tendering system. Following this success, MTR commissioned the development of a Red Hat Linux version of HDF to protect its Web servers.
